Guerrista play the blues with alternative twist

E-mail Print PDF

It was time for some blues influenced rock at the Slice, Aug. 5 with Guerrista.Guerrista singer Lyndsay Johnston gets into the blues. photo by Richard Amery

Singer Lyndsay Johnston showed off an impressive, though trebly voice as she belted out original blues rock. I arrived in the middle of a set of riff heavy numbers, including AC DC’s “Ride On,” just as they changed the pace for several slower blues which showed off her range.

The band was tight and have a lot of fun for a packed house.

They laid down a solid groove and featured some beautifully soulful guitar solos as well as a couple impressive harp solos.

They will be back in Lethbridge, Aug. 17 at the Tongue N Groove.
