Sonreal brings the party to Lethbridge

E-mail Print PDF

Vancouver rapper Sonreal brought the party to the Slice, July 13. Rookie promoter MaseOne Pryde did well for his first show, which attracted a good 60-70 people.

While I missed the opening acts, I caught a Sonreal hypes up the audience. Photo by Richard Amerybrief set from the very humble Sonreal, who beamed ear to ear while sounding a little like Justin Timberlake as he alternated between singing soulful R and B and rapping to to the beats of DJ Rich A.

He asked the audience if anybody knew his music, and when a handful of people cheered, he remarked “Only six people, that will keep me humble.”

He gave shout outs to promoter DJ Booda in the audience for keeping rap alive in Lethbridge and thanked everybody profusely as he bounced from one side of the stage to the other.

He worked the crowd very well, getting them dancing and chanting “ I say Leth, you say Bridge, Leth-bridge, Leth-bridge.”

His short set included  several tracks from his latest CD “Words I Said Mixtape,” dedicated one of those songs to his mom, as well as  performed a brand new song to be released on a new CD later this month.
