Shred Kelly released their new  CD “In The Hills,” Sept. 1. They recorded it with John Critchley who has worked with Elliott Brood.
“So far it’s been good. It’s number one on the folk charts in Lethbridge on CKXU and we just found out were number 45 on the national charts,” enthused Shred Kelly keyboardist/ vocalist Sage McBride from Jasper.

While they spent an amazing summer touring  countless festivals across the country including the Ottawa Blues festival and the Salmon Arm Blues festival just to name a few, they have slowed down in the fall to just play weekends around B.C. and Alberta.

“ The Ottawa Blues festival was amazing. Seal‘s trailer was right across from us so that was my star struck moment,” McBride enthused.
“ And Walk of the Earth were there, who do the five people on one guitar version of the Gotye song, ‘Somebody I Used to Know.’”

Another amazing experience was being one of  the three fan chosen bands chosen for theTracks on Tracks  cross Canadian train tour, which was filmed by CBC.  They shared stages with Adaline, The Belle Game, The Matinee, Portage and Main, Maurice, and Top Less Gay Love Tekno Party and Chris Ho who won in Victoria and Sidney York who won in Calgary
“We did a lot of networking  to get on that tour. A lot of Lethbridge people voted for us a so we’re very grateful to all of them,” she said adding she enjoyed getting to meet  the other bands on the tour and getting to hear them play.

“ It was amazing,”she said adding they capped that off by playing the NXNE festival in Toronto.
“ It was a very unique experience,” she said.
Another highlight of the summer was  the Salmon Arm Blues Festival.
“We got treated really well. They put us up on a houseboat,” she enthused.
They are pleased with how the CD turned out.

“Yes, we’re really happy about it. We recorded it in Toronto at  Green Door Studios. with John Critchely who produced Elliott Brood,” she enthused adding they enjoyed working with Critchley.
“He was great. He was really professional he pushed us  a lot more than if we did it ourselves,” she said  they put out a lot of feelers about different locations to record the new CD, but decided  to spend three weeks in April and May in Toronto.

They always enjoy playing Lethbridge because of the fans.
“We’ll play some of the new songs and have a high energy set. We always have a good time in Lethbridge and hope it continues with this show,” McBride continued.
