Local indie rock bands show off their styles

E-mail Print PDF

There was a decent turnout  at the Slice for a late announced rock show, Nov. 16. While Fist City and Stalwart Sons were supposed to The Yeah Dads playing psychedelic rock. Photo by Richard Ameryplay their brand of garage and punk rock, they were unable to.

So several local bands including Ruby Plumes, Betterhalf, The Yeah Dads and the New Weather Machine took their place.

Unfortunately I missed Ruby Plumes, but caught  most of  drum and bass duo Betterhalf aka Aaron Trozzo on drums and Silvana Campus on bass.
They played unusual alternative/ indie rock.

I’m always impressed by the Yeah Dads.
They played Sadies style psychedelic rock music combining elements of the blues, garage rock and ’60s rock and roll.
Together they sounded like a blend of the Sadies meets the Smalls with just a touch of Shadowy Men From A  Shadowy Planet.
They played a solid set of catchy, hook-filled rock.
