Chadley raps about video games and movies

E-mail Print PDF

I don’t get to a lot of rap shows, but made a point of checking out aka Chris McCue aka Chadley ’s opening set at the Slice, Aug. 1. The Grey Area, Sam MacKey and  Tru Apostles were also on the bill, though I could only stay for Chadley.Chadley rapping about video games. Photo by Richard Amery
He rapped over DJ beats and sounded like Eminem rapping about video games.

“I ’m a nerdcore rapper, which basically means a rap about whatever I want,” he explained to an enthusiastic audience.

What he wanted to rap about was a lot of video games like Zelda and the Smash Brothers and comics/ movies like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He “got a little serious” near the end of his set for one of the highlights “Butthole Pleasures.” He ended with another highlight “Rapping in the Rain.”
