Karen Romanchuk introduces new music for new year

E-mail Print PDF

There was a decent crowd of approximately 20 people out on a chilly night, Jan.  2 to hear Lethbridge folk and country musician Karen Romanchuk play a long set of music at the Owl Acoustic Lounge including covers and quite a few originals from her three CDs and several brand new songs including “Loved By You.”Karen Romanchuk amd Jason Eveleigh.  She performed excellent covers of Ryan Adams’ new  song “Give Me Something Good,” as well as  Steve Earle’s classic “ Someday.”

It was great to hear her older songs like “ Jessie” as well as one of my favourites “ Blue, Blue Heart.” plus a very pretty song called “Summer Leaves.” Jason Eveleigh, hidden in the shadows, supplied  some very sweet  guitar solos complementing Romanchuk’s world  weathered voice.
