River Jacks rock the accordion punk

Spencer Jo and the RiverJacks returned to the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Jan. 23 to play some amped up accordion powered punk music for a good sized audience.

But the River Jacks were just getting warmed up for  a big punk show the next night at the Vent in Coaldale.

They had plenty of upbeat energy and melody and accordion that  reminded me a little of the Mahones mixed with the Dropkick Murphys. While I was used to them playing acoustic punk, this was a full bore, electric show.

So there was plenty of fun, up tempo music about drinking and punk music and much more combining a few covers with lots of originals, and barely any of them crossing the two minute mark.

“ Burn the City” was one  of many highlights.
