Whiskey Sheiks bring lots of bluegrass

Edmonton based string band and multi-instrumentalists the Whiskey Sheiks returned to the Owl Acoustic Lounge, July 3 to play for a chattering crowd.

They played an array of toe tapping upbeat bluegrass and country music.

Everybody got to solo as the band members switched instruments throughout their set taking turns to sing lead vocals while everybody else sang harmonies.

I especially enjoyed “Tear it Down,” and after a switch of lead vocalist ,  “Burning Bridges,” which reminded me of Andrew Neville and the Poor Choices and which had a few people dancing.
