Citizen Rage and Press Gang bring Beer Core back to Lethbridge

E-mail Print PDF

I was totally disappointed to miss Vancouver punk band  A Total Disappointment at the Moose Hall, SaCitizen Rage's Mark Russell at the Moose Hall, Aug. 15. Photo by Richard Ameryturday, Aug. 15, but was very happy to catch return visits from Calgary beer core veterans Press Gang and Citizen Rage.

The Press Gang were in the middle of another hyperactive set of metal influenced punk music. They played some hot guitar solos and quick riffs and  had a Celtic feel in the vocals.

Citizen Rage are all about creating community so exuberant frontman Mark Russell told a good sized crowd to gather around the stage while he growled and howled lyrics railing against police, society and politics.

A most pit started and just as quickly ended.

“ No Regrets was a highlight as was  fan favourite “Fuck Your Face,” which had the audience gleefully shouting along.
The all ages gig didn’t draw any kids, but brought a lot of late 20s and early ’30s punks out in force for the show.
