The Lethbridge Arts Days Live In Lethbridge Community Cabaret at CASA, Sept. 24 was all about the comedy this year. Lethbridge improv group the Drama Nutz  hosted the evening for a couple of dozen people and introduce some of their new members Erinn Watson, Brandon Eyck, Ty Grier and Cassandra Watson.

They opened up with the game one word story and made way for the comedy of Brett Hutchinson, who will be hosting the comedy open mic on Wednesday at the owl acoustic Lounge. His routine this time was  about cars and losing his virginity Disney style.

The Drama Nutz  followed that up with a game called director's cut as director Erinn Watson directed the Drama Nutz through a variety of different movie styles based on a romantic comedy scenario.

A short play written and directed by Erinn Watson called Never Piss into the Wind performed by AJ Barager and Kaitlin Norman followed that up. It was pretty much just that, a man and a woman talking about pissing like a guy which ended up being a n examination of gender roles.
The Drama Nutz brought audience members on stage for  a game called Living Statues, which ended up being a humourous  first date under the bridge which ended in a marriage. Tall, slender blonde comedian Alli Price ended the first half of the show by continuing in the romance vein by discussing dating as a tall person.

The Drama Nutz got the second half of the show started with a  game called tap out which began with a monologue about cream cheese with each Nutz member tapping the performer on the shoulder with a humourous new angle.

The music of the night came courtesy of Nicholas  Bohle and his acoustic guitar. He played  a handful of riff filled originals which wouldn’t be out of place as metal and alternative rock songs. He was an immediate hit who was called back for an encore before the Drama Nutz  returned.
The last stand up comedian of the night was  Mav Adecer, who was equal parts self deprecating, equal parts weird  and confusing as he appeared not to want to go on stage until Brett Hutchinson convinced him to go through with it. It may have been part of his act. He was pretty funny when he examined the idea of drawing attention to current affairs  on Facebook by using photos of cats and babies.

The Drama Nutz returned one more time with a game called Telephone, based on the children's game. Two cast members would begin a scene as the others were sent out of the room, returning one at a time to replace one of the cast in a scene without knowing what it was. So the subject of fishing for dolphins got pretty surreal.
