That’s what Calgary  based rockabilly Quartet Peter and the Wolves who are enjoying their first tour east of Alberta in support of their  new CD “ Papa’s Going Out of Town.”

The band including frontman/ lead guitarist Howlin' Pete Cormier, drummer Miss Cherry Kisses, keyboardist Paul Rhodes Rodermond and upright bassist Theo Waite have been pleasantly surprised  by the response to  their music.
“ Montreal has a great scene. We got invited to play with these old rockabilly guys who had a show. It was totally impromptu,” Cormier enthused of being embraced by members of veteran rockabilly bands   the Rockabilly Rascals and Roy Condo and his Hard Rock Goners.

“ I can’t wait to see what the scene in Toronto will be like,”  Cormier continued.
“It’s been so much fun. People seem to like our original rock and roll as much as they are enjoying the traditional songs” he said.
Fans have been embracing the new CD.

“ We just released in in Calgary. It’s all originals except for one cover. It’s great to see people getting as  excited about our originals as they do about  the traditional rock and roll,” he said.
“I just want to write songs that  to make people dance and sing along,” he added.

They are excited to wind down their tour in Lethbridge at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, June 4.

“This  tour is the first time we’re toured east of Alberta . We do play  around B.C. a lot,” Cormier observed.
“ We’ll be playing a lot in Alberta,” he said.

“We’ll be playing all of the songs from the new album and  some classics, whatever will keep people on their feet,” he said adding there may also be some new material.
“We just released the new album, but I’m always writing.  There will be some new songs and some fun songs,” he said.

“I’m just so glad to see rock and roll happening across the country. But I can’t wait to come back and  see all of the people there again,” he enthused.

Peter and the Wolves play the Owl Acoustic Lounge, June 4 at 9 p.m.
