Toronto based psychobilly band the Creepshow are stoked to play Lethbridge for the first time, Oct. 27 with Brutal Youth at the Moose Hall.
They are touring  in support of their latest CD “Life After death,” the first one with new singer Kenda Legaspi. The Creepshow make their Lethbridge visit this week. Phoyo submitted
The band is completed by founding members upright bassist Sean McNab and keyboardist Ginty plus drummer Sandro Santiage and Canadian lead guitarist Chuck Coles, who tours with the band  when they play Canada. They tour with German guitarist Daniel when they play overseas.

“He used to come over every month to play  with us, but he’s busy with production,” McNab said.

It is tough for the band to get together when the members live all over the place.
“ We all live a long way from each other. I live in Toronto. Kenda lives in Hamilton and Ginty and Sando lives in Montreal. So thank God for the Internet,” he said, adding they plan to write new material over Christmas and record it in the new year.

The Creepshow have been playing for 11 years.
“ It’s been 11 years,” Ginty said.

Psychobilly was a natural fit for the band.
“I played upright bass in school and I always loved rockabilly music and punk rock. So when we started talking about forming  a psychobilly band, we finally got it together,” McNab said.
He noted there is a solid psychobiilly scene in Toronto.
“ The girl who runs to scene took a liking to us. But we also set up shows with ska band and punk bands,” McNab said.
The new album title  could have been prophetic.

“There was some talk when we our singer Jan left,” Ginty said.
That changed when they discovered Kenda.

“ A friend of mine in Hamilton said ‘ I have just the girl for you. She can sing and she’s cool. So he sent me a link to her music. She was playing singer/songwriter stuff in Hamilton. And as soon as I heard her voice, I was blown away,” McCann enthused.
“We‘re very DIY. She’s super cool. We tour rough. She loves touring. We stay with friends instead of getting a hotel and sometimes we sleep in the van.  Sometimes she chooses to sleep in the van,” he continued.

“And she loves the fans. She’s always  at the merch table and stays right until the end  until everyone has had their picture taken or says hi,” Ginty added.
Ginty noted fans have responded well to the new CD.

“ We’ve never been a critically acclaimed band. For us it’s always about the fans. They love the album and critics have even reviewed it,” Ginty added.

They are excited to play Lethbridge.
“ I don’t think I ever even been there,” Ginty said.

“It’s our first time, so we’ll be bringing our A game,” he continued.

“We’re into this because it’s fun. So we’ll be having fun and hanging out with the fans and drinking with them,” McNab said
The Creepshow will be playing with Brutal Youth and local acts to be announced including local metal band Quick Draw.
Tickets are available for $15  at Blueprint and $20 at the door. The show begins at 8 p.m.
