Mauno returns with Montreal art pop band Look Vibrant! and local post punk/art rock band Body Lens.
There is no cover for the show, which begins at 9 p.m.
As usual, several events happen on the weekend .
Local alternative rock band Fox Eyes and My Tin Hat play the Slice, Jan. 26.
Jazz lovers welcome back the Herb Hicks Jazz quartet with Sheena Lawson to the Mocha Cabana, Jan. 26.
On the country side of the spectrum, local country band Rancho Deluxe returns to the Owl Acoustic Lounge Jan. 26 and local country band the Mark Hall Band returns to Casino Lethbridge, Jan. 26 and 27.
There is lots of comedy this week as well. Jokers Gone Wild returns to Casino Lethbridge, jan. 25 with comedians Simon King, Brett Forte and Adam Blank. The laughter begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10.
The other big comedy show is at Average Joe’s, Jan. 26 as the 10th annual Snowed In Comedy Tour blows those winter blues away with the mirth of five-time best Canadian Comedy Awards best male standup nominee Pete Zedlacher, Just for Laughs competition winner Dan Quinn, Great Canadian Laugh Off winner Paul Myrehaug and MC Craig Campbell. The jokes crack open at 8 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance.
On Saturday, there are plenty of entertainment options. Kootenay, B.C.-based Led Zeppelin tribute Heavy Airship play the Slice at 10 p.m.. Tickets are $10 in advance $15 at the door.
Pat Maloney returns to the Owl Acoustic Lounge Jan. 27. There is a $10 cover for that show.
The Owl has a busy week as they host a special Terrific Kids Collective Sunday night show, Jan. 28. featuring Daniel Romano’s punk project, Ancient Shapes who will be performing with Edmonton’s Wares and local band Ghost Woman.
A busy week winds down with open mics.
As usual, the Owl Acoustic Lounge have open mics on Monday, Jan. 29.
The Smokehouse has started a new Tuesday open mic at their northside location Jan. 30. And the Owl has their usual comedy open mic on Wednesday, Jan. 31.
