Misery Mountain Boys bring joy with jazz tinged bluegrass

E-mail Print PDF

It has been a couple of years since Edmonton jazz/ bluegrass band the Misery Mountain Boys play the Lethbridge Folk club, so I was glad to catch their Lethbridge returThe Misery Mountain Boys’ Lindsay Bueckert at the Slice, Oct. 12.Photo By Richard Ameryn at the Slice, Saturday, Oct. 12.

They were a lot of fun, adding a little clarinet and saxophone.

Upright bassist Lindsay Bueckert, sporting a coonskin cap, grinned as she she thumped away on her bass.

Bandmates Steve Gevenich, Sam Toms and Ethan Markwart sang multi-part vocal harmonies while performing upbeat, perky, jazz tinged bluegrass and folk music, which had  a lot of toes tapping.
