Taylor Ackerman’s Global Acid Reset plays the blues and rock at the Owl Acoustic lounge

Taylor Ackerman’s  Global Acid Reset returned  to the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Saturday, Feb. 5.

They have released three albums in almost as many years, but  the trio of guitarist/vocalist Taylor Ackerman, bassist Pat Ackerman and drummer Dustin Gergel were in a bluesy mood for their second set.

They played a couple songs from their last EP “Encephalon” including  “ Wealth in the Work” and “ Cold Hard Times.”

They invited  the Dark Wrangler’s Don Cassell on stage to add some impassioned blues harp to those two.

I missed the Dark Wrangler’s opening set.

They played a lot of southern rock and blues including  ZZ Top’s “ I Thank You,” which Taylor Ackerman said was originally done by Sam and Dave.

They also covered Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “ I Know a Little” and even better, played a sweet tribute to Winnipeg’s the Perpetrators by covering their song “ I Must Be Crazy.”

Another highlight was a cover of The Allman Brothers Band’s “Not My Cross to Bear.”

And to branch out a little even covered some Susan Tsedeschi’s “Little By Little.”
