The Dice Cubes turn it on for Lethbridge debut

E-mail Print PDF

It ended up being an early night at the Slice, Friday, July 8.

The Dice Cubes’ upbeat brand of rockabilly influenced rock  were pretty good soundtrack to Street Wheelers, as several of their songs are about cars and hot rods.

They played an energetic and tight set of high octane twang fuelled rockabilly rock band roll music and were having a great time on stage.

Unfortunately not a lot of people showed up to see the Edmonton based band at the Slice, Friday.

Which was sad, but not surprising considering everything happening  last week combined with beautiful summer weather.

I only caught the last few songs. They had one drunk dancer and a handful of people applauding from their tables.

They made a great first impression as they have never played Lethbridge before, though a couple of the members played her as part of the Fuzz Kings several years ago.

The Dice Cubes played some classic rockabilly like  “Rock A Billy” , originals and were called back for an encore of Carl Perkins’ “Put Your Cat Clothes On.”
