One last shot of Christmas cheer this week

The week leading up to Christmas is chilly, but will heat up as the weather does.

Things begin tonight at the owl Acoustic lounge, for their weekly open mic.

 

 If you’re still looking for last minute gifts and want to support local artists and artisans, the Owl Acoustic Lounge brings back their annual I Heart Local pop up Christmas market from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday,  Dec. 21.

 Another beloved Christmas tradition, Shakespeare meets Dickens returns to Casa, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. As usual there will be an array of songs, carols, a few excerpts from Shakespeare and  a reader’s theatre  reading of Charles Dickens’ “ A Christmas Carol.”

 

 The Christmas spirit begins at 7p.m. Admission is $25.

 After that check out the Slice’s ugly sweater Christmas jam with host Jolene Draper beginning at 9 p.m.

Speaking of Christmas, if you missed TJ Waltho’s A Charlie Brown Christmas at the Owl Acoustic Lounge and  Spectrum ale on the weekend, Keyboardist TJ Waltho, bassist Paul Holden, drummer Brad Brouwer and guitarist Aaron Trozzo will be performing the Christmas classic soundtrack at the Slice, with the  special showing on the screen in the background.

 

Friday, Dec. 23 opens at the Owl Acoustic lounge with the Holiday Heater-a. warm clothing drive for  Sage Clan. there will be performances from Foster Dollis, Bailey Kate, Zach Passey, Monroe Fox and Mombuds.

 

After that get ready to dance the winter blues away with Hippodrome]s annual pre-Christmas performance  at the Slice.

 

 The local disco/ R and B/  pop collective will be getting those toes a tapping and moves grooving all night long beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets are $17.31 through Eventbrite.

 

Steel Cut return to rock Casino Lethbridge Friday, Dec. 23 and Dec. 30 at 8 p.m. each night. Frankie G  hosts Honkers pub’s  last open mic before Christmas on Friday, Dec. 23.

 New West WTheatytre]s outstanding production of Blockbuster continues this week and on until Dec. 31 at the Yates Theatre .
