Lethbridge, Alberta – The Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra continues its 2022-23 concert season with a much-anticipated celebration of the 100 year old Casavant organ at Southminster United Church on Monday, February 6th at 7:30 p.m. Join Lethbridge Symphony music director, Glenn Klassen and talented guest artist Neil Cockburn for an evening featuring stunning melodies. Neil’s incredible musicality and physical coordination will wow the audience!
The program features spectacular music from the Leonore overture by Beethoven, along with C.P.E. Bach’s Concerto for Organ in G Major. Bach’s concerto highlights a musical transition between the Baroque and Classical musical styles: expressive, turbulent, and dynamic. The Symphony #3 in C Minor (also known as the organ symphony) by Camille Saint-Saëns pushes the musical boundaries further.
