Most people hearing Cathleen sing for the first time would be forgiven
if they believed that she has always been singing. With a father who
played guitar and a mother who sang at family parties, she comes by her
musical ability naturally. A self-taught guitar player and singer, her
voice is a contrast of vulnerability and sheer force, with a soulful
depth stretching beyond her short time as a performer.
“Brilliant Bright”, the follow-up to her debut CD "Gypsy As I Go" offers up Cathleen’s own unique and emerging voice, where roots music and story meet soul. An eclectic mix of folk, alt country and soulrock roots, her second album features 11 original songs, delivered with a voice described by Belgium Rootstime Magazine as "..a clear and pure voice…destined to appear on many stages”.
A passionate singer-songwriter, she is a raw and genuine talent, blending a warm authentic voice with simple acoustic guitar style. Sincere heartfelt lyrics, the odd foot stomp and her own Canadiana photos as a backdrop create a warm and intimate show from this emerging independent artist.
Owl is Lethbridge’s newest Lounge in the same building which had Mood, Squeaky’s Pub before and O Riley’s before that. They feature live acoustic music and excellent food.
