A less-is-more approach makes this album, Circulation a whirlwind of straight-out-of-the-garage
noisiness and earworm hooks. It starts with the feedback squeal of
combustible opener "Smalls”, a song that explores the excitement and
self-destruction of drug use and takes
its name from the classic coming-of-age film The Sandlot. This leads
into "Tiger," which shifts between spiky riffs and cloud-scraping,
vintage pop choruses that feature Bays on backup harmonies.

Graham Serl (drums)
"Our
music is inspired by fun," says JPNSGRLS drummer Graham Serl. "We have
such a good time playing our songs loud and fast. We get sweaty and get
people dancing."
Singer Charlie Kerr nods in agreement and
adds, "That's pretty much the modus operandi of what we've been doing
since we were 17: what can we do that will get people excited?"
JPNSGRLS — pronounced "Japanese Girls" — formed in Vancou
ver
in 2010 with a lineup that includes Serl, Kerr, guitarist Oliver Mann
and bassist Chris McClelland. Their name was inspired by the female
Japanese rock band Mass of the Fermenting Dregs, and they made their
debut with The Sharkweek EP in 2013 on Light Organ Records.
For
their brand new debut LP, Circulation, due in the summer of 2014 also
on Light Organ, the outfit hunkered down in Vancouver's Greenhouse
Studios with producer Steve Bays (Hot Hot Heat, Mounties). The twelve
songs were tracked in just seven days and mix straight-out-of-the-garage
noisiness with earworm hooks and genre-jumping eclecticism.
Circulation, mastered by world-renowned engineer Greg Calbi (Yeah Yeah
Yeahs, MGMT), along with their whirlwind live show honed on support
tours for July Talk & Mounties, presents JPNSGRLS as a force to be
reckoned with.

Not only do we have the best pizza in town, we are also the center of Lethbridge's NightLife.
We are the only bar in town featuring live music every day of the week. Canadian touring artists, local legends and new emerging artists, everyone stops here.
