The eleventh annual Rotary Dragon Boat Races provide most of the entertainment and excitement this week.
In addition to the races themselves and vendors, there is a lot of local music happening Friday through Sunday on the main stage. There are a lot of familiar faces performing and a few new ones outside the beer gardens next to Henderson Lake. Lethbridge area country musician Dusty Dee Litchfield opens up the show on Friday, July 6 at 4 p.m. There is also plenty of also young talent including rock band Vista Park.Dusty Dee is one of many musicians playing the Rotary Dragon Boat Races this weekend. Also performing will be a lot of dance groups from throughout the community including the Ammena Dancers, Rocky Mountain Cloggers and Desert Wind Belly Dancers. Hibikiya drummers will be there again as well as lots of familiar faces  including Bridgette Yarwood.

Calgary pop duo Boy and Gurl open up the day on Saturday, July 7 at 11 a.m. Blues band Texas Flood will be playing Saturday as will Soup of Flies.  On Sunday things get off to a great start with Lethbridge rock band Phao who will be playing music from their new CD. After them, Pow Navarro brings the pop, the Coal Creek Boys bring some country and  Who’s Yer Daddy wind things up with a whole lot of classic rock.

That‘s not all though, a couple other interesting shows include a return visit from quirky jazz/ folk band Maria In The Shower who play the Slice, July 4. And for a more traditional take on country music, check out Petunia and   the Vipers who come to the Slice, July 9. They  sing traditional country  music and even yodel.

There is a good show at the Gate on July 10 featuring Lethbridge pop band Stars from Streetlights as well as  Kye Kye and the Dougie Parker Band.

Winnipeg power -pop band the Perms aren’t afraid to be happy and spreading it all over the world.
They will be playing the Slice, July 5.

Maryland born rock and roll quartet, the Weber Brothers, have been playing rock and roll since they were knee-high to a grasshopper. Thye return to the Slice on Friday, July  6 with a more bare bones, stripped down show.

If you are in an amourous mood,  Herky Cutler is playing a kissing themed show at the Mocha Cabana, July 6 as well. Lethbridge blues band Riviera Paradise will be playing on Saturday at the Mocha Cabana.
Tonight, Lustre Cream hosts the Slice’s open mic.

Also beginning this week is Shakespeare in The Park.
