The sold out show, featuring a stocking full of stories and songs, just featured Rankin, best known for playing with his siblings in the renown Rankin Family band and lead guitarist Jamie Robertson.

He began his show by brought out his big country hit “I’m Just Saying (Show Me A Sign)” and a couple other popular solo numbers including “Forget About the World” from his CD “Here in My Heart,” at the beginning of the show, then moved smoothly into the Christmas part of his show.

He sang in a strong tenor voice, joked with the crowd throughout the show. But he concentrated on tracks from his new Christmas CD “Tinseltown,” playing several songs from it including the title track and his interpretations of popular Christmas carols including “Winter Wonderland.”

He also  talked about John Denver’s Christmas CD and sang a few of his favourites from that after telling  story about being inspired by watching his siblings perform, eventually playing drums behind them and being inspired again when they went to college and brought back music home with them. One of the highlights of this was his cover of John Denver’s “Christmas For Cowboys,” which featured some pretty fingerpicking.
He ended the set on a rocking note by playing the Rankin’s 1999 hit “Movin’ On” and had the audience singing along.
