Medicine Hat “hillbilly hippie”  folk singer Jay Bowcott played an entertaining set at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Jan. 5

He stood rooted to the spot in front of his microphone, long blond hair cascading around his face as he chatted engagingly with the crowd about Patron and playing the Buckle in Medicine Hat.

 He sang catchy folk rock songs, sounding like a cross between Tom Cochrane and Tom Petty as he switched between several different harmonicas. He played an array of originals as well as a few covers from bands like Blue Rodeo.
