The Victoria trio including Dave Lang on guitar and lead vocals was backed by  a clarinet player Jeff Poynter and stand up bassist Alex Rempel.

While not officially a jazz festival show, they definitely had the spirit. There is just something about that clarinet that makes you smile. And Rempel’s bass was in the toe-tapping pocket.
While they were trying to play over a loudly chattering crowd of about 25 people, there was a lot of applause after each song.

He looked like Dan Frechette, but their music sounded a trimmed down Plaid Tongued  Devils mixed with Geoff Berner and the cantina scene from Star Wars.
They were a lot of fun and their songs had a wicked sense of humour. They even played a couple of Geoff Berner songs including Maginot Line,” and another slower song.
They played a song they wrote in Swift Current, which was a catchy highlight with the chorus “ I’m Just Hanging Around With You.”
They played a Hoagy Carmichael song with a long instrumental intro then played another  cool on about trying to sell property in Prince Edward Island.
