Mitch Belot blends folk with a touch of blues and covers

Compared to the rock and roll at the Slice, Calgary roots and blues musician Mitch Belot played an intimate set of acoustic singer songwriter material, a few covers and a little blues at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, March 17.

I arrived in the middle of a song  called “Nowhere to Go,” which he followed up by going back 40 some years for a soulful version of  “Ain’t No Sunshine.”Mitch Belot playing his original music. Photo by Richard Amery

His voice and energy were reminiscent of  Ross Neilsen and Greg Rekus.

He ended his set with an original blues influenced number called “ Jumping Ship.”
