The week begins with a one day art show and live music with Edmonton bilingual folk musician Paul Cournyer at the French Canadian Centre La Cité Des Prairies, April 29. There will be a wine and cheese reception at 5 p.m. as Montreal born, Lethbridge based artist Anne Dubord unveils 15 new original acrylics.

At 7 p.m., Edmonton based bilingual pop singer Paul Cournoyer takes the stage, playing the fourth date on his tour in support of his new EP.

The next day, Winnipeg based Lethbridge raised musician Keri Latimer and her husband Devin come home to Lethbridge as Leaf Rapids to play a show at the Slice, April 30 with Grant Davidson aka Slow Leaves. There is a $10 cover for the show.

Jesse Northey also returns home to Lethbridge this week when he brings his band Jesse and the Dandelions to the Slice, May 1 with fellow Edmontonians The Colleen Brown Band and Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan favourites PandaCorn. The Owl also brings back Calgary psych folk/ indie folk band the Ashley Hundred, April 30 with local rock band the Utilities.

The Owl Acoustic Lounge ends a busy month of live entertainment by bringing back Calgary psych folk rock band the Ashley 100  and local rock band the Utilities, April 30.

For something a little different, Jay Whitehead’s Castrati a Drag opera  plays Club Didi, April 28 and 29 at 8 p.m. before heading to Ireland for a couple of shows in early May.
May rocks in Lethbridge though, beginning May 1 with two big metal shows.

Edmonton’s Rebuild /Repair and Medicine Hat’s Ohmwar rock Inferno, May 1. If you like Motley Crüe, Live Wire the Motley Crüe tribute rock  Soundgarden with Rawk Fist, May 1 as well. There is a $10 cover for the show, which begins at 8 p.m.

On the other hand, if you are a hip hop fan, Vancouver’s Snak the Ripper hits Inferno, May. 2  with  Caspian and Jaclyn Gee. The show begins at 10 p.m.

For something a little more laid back, the Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra takes a trip to Britain— musically anyway, on May 4 as they present the sixth concert series of the season featuring violinist Gabriel Kastelic at the Southminster United Church.
And if you love the ukulele, check out the second annual ukulele appreciation night at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, May 2 where  a dozen or so ukulele enthusiasts  will be performing.
