It was time for some rock and roll and metal music at Inferno, April 18 for an early starting show which had to be done by 11 p.m. to clear the dance floor for Salsa dance.Stab Twist Pull frontman Mike Hoogaars. Photo by Richard Amery

So I missed opening acts Perception of Pain, a female powered  metal duo from   the High River/Claresholm area, who were breaking in a new bassist  Zoë Grace-Anne. And only caught the end of Medicine Hat death metal band  the Morbidly Depraved.

They screamed an end to their energetic set and made way for more anger featuring Calgary's Stab Twist Pull.

The hard core metal band played plenty of loud, menacing detuned riffs while vocalist Mike Hoogars howled like someone set him on fire. they reminded me a blend of Pantera and the Cancer back, blending metal and hardcore punk music.
