A fundraiser for Fort McMurray fire victims raised a staggering $14,000, May 14 as local country musicians Trevor Panczak and Shane Chisholm packed Coyote Joes.
I just caught the end of the set. I really wanted to see Shane Chisholm again, but missed his set, though he was playing bass with Panczak’s band.
I arrived just in time to catch the “hit portion” of Panczak’s set. He was in the middle of his medley of the Barenaked Ladies’ “ If I Had a Million Dollars” and “ Wagon Wheel” which had the dance floor full of two steppers.
He traded his acoustic guitar for a white Stratocaster for the last few songs of his set which included a cover of Chris Stapleton‘s “ Tennessee Whiskey.
“He’s going to save country music,” quipped Panczak after thanking a few familiar faces in the crowd plus musicians Shane Chisholm and Craig Moritz.
He played his new single “ I Can Be The Lover.”
He encouraged his fans to call Country 95 and request it.
“ It’s falling off the charts fast, he laughed before playing his other recent single “For a Girl.”
He finished his set with his first single “ A Song About Drinking.”
