Cheeky Pig features family fun on Sunday

 On Aug. 2, The Owl Acoustic Lounge hosts Winnipeg indie pop, dream pop musician musician Lev Snowe and new local band Doug.
New West Theatre’s new summer production of Heatwave also begins  Aug. 2 and runs until Aug. 27.


 They will set the soundtrack you your summer fun with comedy and  plenty of easy-going, cheerful classic rock and contemporary music.
The big shows of the week are on Sunday, Aug. 7. The Cheeky PIG Studio Grant has a big outdoor event in the parking lot behind the Owl Acoustic Lounge on Sunday, Aug 7 with fun for the whole family and local bands the Spacewolves and Biloxi Parish plus DJs Phenomenorm and Nickname plus and more acts to be announced. Admission is by donation with proceeds being donated to the Cheeky Pig studio grant as well as the Lethbridge Boys and Girls Club. The event runs from noon to 8 p.m. It is sponsored by Coulee Brew, The Bridge 98.1 and Long and McQuade and Custom Canvus.


 As that show ends, a very cool punk and metal show begins at the Moose Hall around 8 p.m.

 Regina punks  Bats Out ! and Royal Red Brigade return to Lethbridge to play a show with Victoria black metal/ thrash metal band Iskra. The all ages gig with bar begins at 8 p.m. There is a $10 cover. Patrons are advised not to drink in the parking lot as it jeopardizes the use of the venue for future shows.


The Owl Acoustic Lounge features Ovando on Aug, 5. And if you missed local rock band  the Juxtaposers’ CD release at the Slice last weekend, or want a second dose, The Juxtaposers play the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Aug 6.
 And Shakespeare in the park has three presentations of Romeo and Juliet this week at Galt Gardens. They will be performing Wednesday through Friday at 7 p.m. each night.

 There is also an all ages gig at Attainable Records, Aug. 6 featuringlocal pop punk band the Youngbloods, Vancouver area emo/alternative band  Air Combat, Calgary indie pop band Deluge!, local indie rock band Greyscale manor and alt country singer/ songwriter Cale Michael . Doors open at 7 p.m.
