Things are slowly starting to reopen. Last week the Slice had  a successful show featuring seven bands. This week is the Sound Garden Over 21 Club’s chance to shine. They reopen on Friday, July 17 at 7 p.m. with local favourites long standing classic rockers the Chevelles.

 Proper social distancing measures will be in place. There is a five dollar cover.
The Owl Acoustic Lounge is testing the waters for open mics on their expanded patio beginning tonight at 7:30 p.m. Solo performers  are only allowed, and if you have your own microphone, bring it, though sanitized mics will be  on handed to swap out between performers.

 It is a good week for drama. The Lethbridge Shakespeare Perfomance Society’s first open air live performance of Merry Wives of Windsor  at the Nikka Yuko Japanese Gardens is sold out.

 

 And the Galt Museum and New West Theatre presents  a new edition of Trader Tales at Fort Whoop Up beginning Friday, July 17 at 7 .m. There will be another on on Aug. 21. Each night is limited to 60 people. Tickets are $25 for adults  as there will be a cash bar. Teens 13-17 get in for $25.

 

 New West Theatre is also continuing their series of live streamed radio programs. They present Sherlock Holmes ’ “Murder in the Casbah” and Vintage Hitchcock part 2: The 39 Steps beginning at 8 p.m., Thursday, July 16 on New West Theatre’s social media channels. There is no charge to listen, but donations are encouraged..

 
 Good Times has the laughs again this week. Saskatchewan comedian Jordi Bott is roasted on Friday, July 17 at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $20. He performs  on Saturday, July 18 at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Admission is $20 for those shows.
 Tuesdays are their weekly open mic. And there will be improv on Thursday.
 The Slice and Owl Acoustic Lounge haven‘t announced any shows yet this week.
