Valentines week in Lethbridge is all about big country shows at the Enmax Centre.

 Aaron Pritchett, will be playing all of his hits. like“Hold My Beer,” at the Enmax Centre tonight,  Tuesday, Feb. 13 with a little help from his chart topping friends Matt Lang and Cary Marks who both have new albums out and will be sharing their music on stage with Pritchett.

 The show starts at  7:30 p.m. Tickets are available through aaronpritchett.com Tickets are $55 and  $65.

 

If you like your country with a touch of bluegrass and a little bit of Jesus, High Valley makes a long awaited return to  Southern Alberta to play a special Valentines Day show at thew Enmax Centre , Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m.  Tickets are $38, $49, $60. Tim and the Glory Boys open the show.

 

 The Geomatic Attic has a busy couple months this weekend beginning with a supergroup of sorts who formed during the pandemic. MOONRiiVR includes Gavin Gardiner, who played with Juno nominated roots band Wooden Sky for 15 years, bassist Ben Whitely who has played with The Weather Station, Basia Bulat, Julia Jacklin and Champagne James Robertson who usually plays lead guitar with Lindi Ortega and Dwayne Gretzky plus percussionist Kyle Molzan  who has played with Kathleen Edwards and  Corb Lund. They play the Geomatic Attic on Friday, Feb., 16 with  MOONRiiVR and Peter Dreams from July Talk The show begins at 8 p.m., Feb. 16.

 Tickets are $45 non-members, $42.50 for members.

 The Owl Acoustic Lounge’s open mic is tonight, Tuesday, Feb. 13.

Prophet Gabriel  hosts the blues jam at the Slice, tonight, Feb. 13 beginning at 8:30 p.m..

 He is also hosting Theoretically  Brewing’s open mic on Thursday in the newly renovated taproom. It begins at 7 p.m. 

 The Owl Acoustic Lounge hosts a comedy open mic on Wednesday, Feb. 14 

 James Oldenburg and Paul Holden return to the Watertower Grill on Wednesday, Feb. 14 to play some jazz music.

 The Slice has a special V Day Jam on Thursday.

Paul Kype and Steve Keenan play a free show at Honkers Pub on Friday beginning at 7 p.m. and new host Nick  Johnson hosts Honkers Pub’s open mic on Saturday at 5 p.m.

Cal Toth and Anna McBryan being their Duelling pianos show to the Place on Friday, Feb. 16

 The Slice adds the spice of jazz music  as Calgary experimental jazz/ rock collective l’omelette and local doom folk musician Makiisma return to the stage, Feb. 16. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.

 

 If you love that Mountain Music, then Roll On to  HBS Lounge for  Mountain music: A Tribute to Alabama , Saturday, Feb. 17. 

 They will play all of country legends Alabama’s hits  beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $43.93.

 

 The Owl goes country with Tyson Ray Borsboom and  Jed And the Valentine playing , Saturday, Feb. 17.

Cabaret Calgary presents the Heartbreak hangover Burlesque at theSlice on Saturday,. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.

 Things get loud with CKXU Loves You at Theoretically Brewing on Saturday, Feb. 17 where 4BPM, Cope and Ol Ben will be holding court post hardcore/ metal style. The show  begins at 7 p.m. There is a $10 cover charge.

 

 The Slice turns things up again on Sunday for a special matinee show with new wave/punk band Chairman and Alec Arms. Tickets are $10  The music begins at 2:30 p.m.

 

 Speaking of punk music, just announced, Dead Bob  aka the solo project of Canadian punk legends NoMeansno drummer John Wright will be playing the Slice, on March 16. Dead Bob comes to life live with Byron Slack (Invasives), Ford Pier (Ford Pier and the Vengeance Trio, DOA, Roots Roundup, Junior Gone Wild, Rheostatics), Kristy Lee Audette (Rong) and Colin MacRae (Pigment Vehicle) Tickets will be on sale soon.
