Ellen Doty returning to bring smooth jazz to Lethbridge

“ The four of us are on a 30 city tour that starts in Sault Ste Marie and ends in Victoria on Nov. 15,” said vocalist Ellen Doty.


“ This will be the first time we’ve been to a lot of these different cities,” Doty said.
In addition to the performances themselves, She is most looking forward visiting Nova Scotia in in the Fall for the first time.


“I’ve heard Nova Scotia is so beautiful at the time of year,” she said.
 She will be joined by her band, pianist Dan Reynolds; Oliver Miguel (sax/percussion) and Conrad Good (upright bass).


 They are  touring in support of their debut CD “ Gold.”

“A lot of the songs we wrote at the Banff Centre last October,” she said adding the CD, “ Gold”  has done well since they released it on on May 29.
“ We’re very excited about it. It turned out even better than we thought it would. We’re pretty proud of it,” she said adding it has been topping jazz charts and College charts.

 


 

 They were last here in June for a very successful show at the Lethbridge Jazz Festival.


“It was a great concert, so we’re  excited to see familiar faces again,” she said.


“We’ll be playing  some of our songs from “Gold’ and a few covers,” she said.
 Tickets cost $20 for the concert, which begins at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 29.
