Amos Garrett among highlights of slower week

Blues legend Amos Garrett plays a special show at the Mocha Cabana, Wednesday, May 24 with Julian Kerr from 5:30-10:30 p.m. The $78.75 tickets also include at three course dinner.

That same night, Peterborough musician Kayla Howran returns to Lethbridge  to introduce the Slice to her new CD.


The Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra features “Feel The Beat,” Thursday, May 25. They will be introducing young folks to children with four shows during the day and finish it up with a public performance at the Southminster United Church at7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults, nine dollars for children.


 If you want to laugh, Rotary Mosaic  are hosting a fundraiser at Average Joes featuring Rotary members doing improv. The show begins at 6 p.m. There is a $20 cover.
It is a good week to rock out.

Local rock band A Trozzo and the Electric Few release their new CD this week and kick off a tour by opening for Windsor based rock trio Silence Factory and Medicine Hat’s Strange Animal at the Slice on May 26.

 


Vancouver rockabilly musician Rickey Diamonds visits the Owl Acoustic Lounge, May 27. They feature R and B/ country musician Mike Fury on May 26. Local ’90s rock band  Uncovered plays Casino Lethbridge Friday and Saturday.


 There are also some heavier shows happening as well earlier in the week. On Sunday, May 28, Chile meets Vancouver metal band Social Arsonist plays the Smokehouse with Vancouver’s Vth Circle and local metal band To The Mountains. The show begins early at 6:30 p.m. There is a $10 cover.


The Smokehouse also features hip hop on the weekend as Red Deer rapper Merkules comes to town, May 27. Tickets are $25 at the door and $20 in advance. The show begins at 9 p.m.


 The Slice has a big rock show on Tuesday, May 30 with Outrun the Arrow plus Scotch Whiskey Limousine, formerly JJ Thomas plus Montreal rock band The Damn Truth. There is a $10 cover for that show.


 For something a little mellower, Kaslo B.C. country/ roots duo the Eisenhauers come to the Slice in support of their new, Steve Dawson produced CD “the Road We Once Knew,” Monday, May 29 at the Slice.
