U of L art department opens their doors

If you at the University of Lethbridge today (April 20) and April 21 keep your eyes open for some great art from up and coming artists.
 U of L students’ studios are on display. Photo by Richard AmeryIt is time for Art Open House 2010, so works from local artists will be on display  on levels 7 and 8 plus the atrium of University Hall.
“It’s an open house for the whole department,” said Katherine Wasiak, University of Lethbridge Fine Arts Department public relations and communications co-ordinator.
“All of the studios and facilities will be open and people can  tour the  facilities. And there will be student art everywhere,” she continued.
“It’s a chance for all of the students to show off what they have been doing all year,” she continued adding all  types of art will be representeSome pieces from the U of L art open house are in the atrium. 
Photo by Richard Ameryd and there will be demonstrations and opportunities to talk to some of the students about their work.
“There will be 2 D, 3 D , sculptures, installation pieces, video. All kinds of things, ” she enthused.
Plus there will be student guided tours of the facilities and demonstrations. Some of the local schools are organizing excursions to the event.
“You can get guided tours and there will be art everywhere,” she said.
Art Open House  takes place  from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. April 20-21.
