While she is usually a painter, for this exhibit, entitled ‘At the other side of beyond’, which  runs at the Trianon until June 30, she took a different tact.
For this exhibit, she incorporates rope and mirrors into this series of 34 pieces of varying sizes to small to a big box full of mirrors and hanging rope which you walk into.

Another piece from that same series of large boxes including mirrors and ropes was on display at the Yates a couple months ago.

The piece, number two in a series of three, incorporates a mirror on the box’s ceiling for this exhibit.

“I wanted to really engage this space,” Madacky said.

“I find in the west there is too much of a focus on material things and not enough on spiritual things. There needs to be a better balance,” said Madacky who’s art is heavily influenced by the feeling of suspension between a peaceful home and a backdrop of war growing up in the war torn Yugoslavia.

“There are two layers of ropes in these pieces to really engage the audience. It’s a focus on perception,” she said.
