Q- Does size really matter to women? If so, why or why not?

A- Numerous studies have examined women’s preferences for men’s size. These studies consistently show that women care a whole lot less about their partner’s penis size then do the men who own them.

For example Lever, Frederick, and Paplau found  “85 per cent of women were satisfied with their partner's penis size,” whereas “only 55 per cent of men were satisfied”.(Does Size Matter?: Men's and Women's Views on Penis Size Across the Lifespan, published in Psychology of Men and Masculinity, 2006) In other words, it’s possible almost half the men out there worry about their penis size, and for what?

Many other studies have also found that most women prefer an average size penis to a large one. That’s right, women like ‘average sized men’, not donkey-men. And what is the average sized penis you might ask? Good question. It’s generally accepted that six inches is the average size.

We don’t really know this for certain because the studies that look into this kind of thing rely on men to tell the truth about their size. These studies basically just have to take men’s word for it which hardly seems reliable. I don’t know about any of you other ladies out there, but I have certainly had a partner claim (more than once BTW) that their penis is bigger than it actually is.

Some studies have physically measured men’s penises in the hopes of finding a more accurate average. And same thing: six inches. But how do we know that it isn’t mostly well endowed men (or even average men who feel they have nothing to be super proud about but also have nothing to hide) whipping it out for measurement, and again skewing the results? We don’t know. Will we ever know? Since we can’t force all men to let someone measure them, we will just have to go with the six inches story (even though it kinda seems large for an average, doesn’t it?). As a consequence to this supposed average there are probably plenty of men out there thinking, ‘oh no I’m five inches and that’s below average, meaning that I must be small’. Five inches isn’t small just so you know.

Studies aside, I have noticed that women will kiss and tell about a man’s size, and they only seem to mention it when their partner is large.

So if studies say that women don’t care about size, and some studies say that women prefer an average penis to a larger one, than why do women gossip about bigger-than-average-men? Well I dunno. It’s possible that I just happen to talk to the small percentage of women who are into larger men, but it’s also possible a lot of women buy into the notion that we are supposed to like a big one because men fuss and worry about having a small one. Or it could just be that some women like the idea of a big guy, but they might not necessarily want one (some women even find it painful).

I think that the most popular argument on the subject is true; that size doesn’t matter. How much does it not matter, oh about 12 inches of not mattering, is that enough ‘not mattering’ for you? If a girl (or boy) is into you, they will be into your penis too. Haven’t we heard it over and over that penis size has nothing to do with being a good lover? And men still worry about it?
