The Silkstones are a rock band hailing out of Lethbridge Alberta Canada. The Silkstones became fully-formed in the spring of
2015, and make good use of the full-band instrumentation. With a
fantastic intertwining of rhythm guitar, blazing electric leads, and
groovy drumming, their music takes the listener on a journey with honest
songwriting and energetic live performances.
They make the music that they want to hear, and have no problems sounding unique while doing it.
"I've seen a lot of good, young, local bands over the years. But I
couldn't tell you the last time one of them grabbed my full attention
like The Silkstones did. Seeing them live for the first time, my
colleagues and I, all radio veterans, were stopped in our tracks. All of
us. A band that had only been together for months at that time had a
fully captivated audience. Let's be clear, the vast majority of those in
the crowd that summer evening were there for some cold beers and some
live tunes. We didn't know we were about to witness something special.
Not until the first few notes. Our jaws dropped. Literally. I still
remember the look on the faces around me. It was hard to distinguish
between original tune and cover, but, it didn't matter. We were all
there in that moment. If you're looking for something new, something
