I caught a soundcheck for a few talented up and coming bands, but made it back in time for Danica Sommer and her band’s evening closing set.
They began by performing several of Sommer’s originals including more familiar, upbeat yet mournful numbers like “24 Planes.”
Sommer noted she tries to write happy songs but they never work out.
As usual she has a beautiful, powerful, impassioned voice.
She applied that to a cornucopia of Alanis Morissette covers after an all too brief set of originals including all the hits, mostly from “Jagged little Pill” including the title track and “You Oughta Know” and later material like “Thank You India.”
