I stopped by Average Joes for local garage punks, the Myelin Sheaths’ album release party as well as Calgary’s Sharp Ends’ LP release party, Oct. 30.
I arrived in the middle of a ferociously ear bleeding set of excruciatingly loud garage rock and punk from local quartet Fist City who were all done up in their zombie best.
They had approximately 35-40 people bouncing around in front of the stage to a tight set of originals.
I was going to stick around for Nanaimo bass and drums duo, the Bash Brothers, who were in the midst of being told to dial down the volume of their fuzzed out bass riffs, but I really wanted to see C.R. Avery at the Slice, so missed the Sheaths and the Sharp Ends‘ sets.
