Big events in Lethbridge

Once again, Lethbridge is celebrating Canada Day with Canadian music.
The fun starts at 11 a.m. in Galt Gardens with local outlaw country boys The Smokin’ Pistols. A lot of different acts are playing throughout the day including the Ben Brown Band, Stan Ashbee and Double Jack. And Alyssa McQuaid is doing souble duty, playing Galt, then  the Mocha Cabana beginning at 2 p.m.
 There is more live music at Henderson Lake beginning at noon with the Lethbridge Community Silver Band. Trevor Panczak and Rough Stock are playing at 5 p.m. followed by the Chinook Community Orchestra. Glen Coulee play folk and blues in the evening as well as Hippodrome bring out the funk. Fast Times will rock you into the fireworks.
 
 Also on Canada Day, Moka Only will be rapping at Henotic.

4pm—Opening Ceremonies –piped in by Royal Canadian Legion ,  O’Canada,  Greetings from dignitaries
4:20pm—Desert Wind Belly Dancers
5pm—Evening Show Trevor Panczak & Rough Stock: Trevor is a local country favourite.
6pm—Chinook Community Orchestra
7pm—Lethbridge Community Gold Band
8pm—Glen Coulee: They play folk and blues really well.
9pm—Hippodrome: These guys and girls play energetic funk fused, ’70s style dance music.
10:00—Fast Times: They play classic rock hits and some originals.
11:00—Fireworks
 The other big event this week is the Rotary Dragon Boat races. In addition to the races themselves, there is a plethora of local talent playing  July 3-5. Check the listings section  for the exact times.
 There are some excellent individual shows this week as well. On July 2 check out the Rural Alberta Advantage and local pop band the Record Holder.On July 3, Heather Blush will be playing some jazz at the Slice. 
 And if you missed Sled Island, a few of the performers, including local rock trio the Moby Dicks as well as Bikeland and Grim Beat play Henotic along with Sleepy Head. That is just a taste of what’s happening in Lethbridge this week.
