High energy rock with Hot Blood Bombers and Black Thunder

Black Thunder at the Slice, April 1. Photo by Richard AmeryA late annouced show at the Slice brought back some familiar faces and some old favourites.

I missed local classic country band Cilantro, but arrived in time to hear Regina power trio Black Thunder.

This was my kind of music with punk intensity and classic rock chops and alittle bit of Black Sabbath. There were lots of big, meaty riffs to sink your teeth into as well as lots of psychedelic solos.the Hot Blood Bombers returned to Lethbridge, April 1. Photo by Richard Amery

They reminded me of an excellent  band from a few years back called the Illuminati.

They had a handful of fans jumping oin front of the stage by the end of their exceptional set.
Regina’s Hot Blood Bombers took back the stage after that with  more of the same — big riffs, ripping solos, a lot of energy and a good time all round.

Toques and Beards finished the show with their own brand of psychedelic, Sadies style country tinged rock and roll.

They played a tight and fun set full of energy.
