Chris Colepaugh and the Cosmic Crew play the Slice, July 23

If you only see one show this week in Lethbridge, make sure you hit Chris Colepaugh and the Cosmic Crew’s debut performance at the Slice, July 23 (Thursday), because it will be killer.

I’ve seen them several times in other places and can assure you their shows are mindblowing if you like psychedelic blues rock with lots of jamming  along the lines of Govt. Mule  and the Allman Brothers. The New Brunswick trio have released six albums and logged thousands of road miles through intensive touring.

It ends up being a good week for the blues in Lethbridge as Paul Kype and Texas Flood are playing the same night at Henotic. Henotic also welcomes  the Pack A.D to Lethbridge, on Aug. 1 and the Slice is bringing back Wild T and the Spirit, Aug. 2.

Tonight (July 21) Treeline hosts a blues/reggae, country jam at the Slice which is sure to be a lot of fun.

Henotic has a relatively unusual show  July 22  including the laid back Lambta Das who  are playing with  the Square Waves and  alternative rock band Parlovr.

If jazz is more in your vein, Bandemonium, one of James Oldenburg’s many bands plays the Slice, July 24.

Dale Ketcheson will be playing classical guitar  on July 24 and July 25 at the Mocha Cabana. Henotic has two shows, July 25— an R and B show with  the Art of Fresh downstairs and an alternative rock show with the Kettle Black upstairs in the GCBC Lounge.

The Slice has a country-rock show on Monday, July 27 with Saskatchewan singer/songwriter Blake  Berglund.

And if you want to play, the Lethbridge Folk Club has their open mic in the Wolf’s Den as well. If you haven’t caught  New West  Theatre’s  latest production of “Soundtrack,” then catch it before it closes Saturday night.
