Ann Vriend plays infectious piano pop

E-mail Print PDF

Ann Vriend played beautiful piano based pop music at the Owl Acoustic Lounge with drummer Pat Phillips, Sept. 14.Ann Vriend and Pat Phillips. Photo by Richard Amery

They played infectious jazz tinged, soulful pop, with Phillips not only supplying the beat, but adding excellent vocal harmonies.

The jazzy “Long Distance Call” was among many jazz tinged highlights as was her capable version of  the Willie Nelson penned “Crazy,” made famous by Patsy Cline, which included guest guitarist Murray Nelson joining them on stage.
