“Lethbridge has always been good to us. They always rock the house, so we’re going to bring that,” said Wesley from Kelowna, en route to Nelson, in the middle of a 10 show in 11 day tour.

The show is fairly evenly spread over five albums. I’m playing about 22-25 songs, so it’s a fairly long set. It should be a lot of fun. People should come and get ready to dance,” he continued.
The Vancouver based singer/ songwriter, had a busy 2011 having  completed along tour with Matthew Good and went on a six week vacation with his wife to South America. He is back at ’er, touring in support of his latest CD ”‘Easy Livin’” which was released in August.

“The Matt Good tour was a lot of fun. We played a lot of different venues. We played the  National Arts Centre in Ottawa for 2,900 people and places like the Stone for a couple hundred,” he said.

“It was really cool. Matt Good has a lot of dedicated fans and they’d come up to me and say they’d never heard of me until they saw me playing with Matt. And I got to do an acoustic set, which I haven’t done for a long time,” he said.
He is touring with Australian musician Kim Churchill.

“He’s a one man band. He keeps the beat with his feet and plays guitar and harmonica and he has a great voice. People should definitely get there early and check him out because they will be pleasantly surprised.”
Wesley recorded the new Cd with a couple different well known producers— Greig Nori, best known for working with  the likes of Sum 41 and Treble Charger as well as  Dave “Rave” Ogilvie, who has worked with Skinny Puppy.
“ There are some rock songs and the reggae songs I have been doing,” he said of the new CD. I think all of my albums have a lot of diversity. With this one, I thought, why not put a couple big rock songs on it,” he said.

Wesley was so inspired by the writing process of this album, that he already has some new songs in the works.
“I’m definitely going to take some time in April to sit in my room and put the blinders down and  write,” he said.
His trip to South America with his wife took them all over the continent.

“I haven’t done that for a while. We went to Peru and Chile and Argentina. We saw Machu Picchu and Rio DeJaneiro. I get a lot out of seeing how people live. So I’m sure I’ll be reflecting a lot on that when I sit down and write the new music,” he said.
Ocean Party 4 features local hip hop duo Penny Fortune as well as Australian musician Kim Churchill and Daniel Wesley. The show begins at 9 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance.
