Jesse and the Dandelions had an enthusiastic crowd out for the official EP release part for them latest release, 
“Time and Space and Everything In Between,” June 1 at the Slice.
But first, Edmonton’s Doug Hoyer resurrected the spirit of the Pet Shop Boys and other ’80s new wave pop music.
He was dressed all in white and crooning 
as green and red lasers flashed around him, while pre-recorded keyboard lines played behind him.
He had a drummer and Jessica Jalbert hiding in the shadows of the Slice stage adding extra percussion and vocals. He knows a pop hook when he hears one and wasn’t afraid to sing them.
Jessica Jalbert started off the last show of her tour on a slow, ambient note, her pretty voice ringing through the crowded room as she laid down laid back soundscapes on guitar, backed by her guitar, another guitarist, a bassist and a drummer.
She sang a similarly laid back set as she did last time she wa
s here.
But she picked up the tempo again by the end.
Jesse Northey and company were in a playful mood, starting their set with an older song off the ‘Lion’s Tooth,” CD followed by “a song I wrote a week ago,” according to Northey, hiding in the shadows.
“It‘s my CD release show, I can play what ever I want,” he laughed.
