E-mail Print PDF

Live music in Lethbridge will be pretty scarce this week with the two main music venues in Lethbridge, the Slice and the Owl Acoustic Lounge, closing down for South Country FairLinda McRae returns to Lethbridge this week. Photo by Richard Amery. But there is something for everyone on Wednesday, July 18.

Before they close, eclectic Edmonton folk collective Audio/Rocketry play the Owl Acoustic Lounge on Wednesday, July 18. They released a new CD  last year called “Piloting a Vehicle of Audible Expression.”

Also on Wednesday, July 18, Juno nominated songwriter Linda McRae returns to play the Slice. McRae, who used to play with Spirit of the West,  plays banjo, guitar, washboard, accordion and much more combining Appalachian and roots music. She was last here in October to play a show at the Lethbridge Folk Club with Ken Hamm.

If you like rap and hip hop music, you won’t want to miss rap icon Snoop Dogg performing at Pulse, July 18. Tha Dogg Pound members Kurupt and Daz will also be on hand for the show. Special guests KAYO, City Prophets, Strong V, F-Bomb and Sin Sane are also on the bill.
Tickets cost $80 for the show, which begins at 9 p.m.

If you are hanging out in the city on the weekend, check out classical guitarist Dale Ketcheson at the Mocha Cabana on Friday, July 20.
Young, up and coming singer/ songwriter Tristan Skretting is also back at the Mocha Cabana, July 21.
