Dated Delay back together for Street Wheelers

E-mail Print PDF

Dated Delay reunited for Street Wheelers weekend. Photo by Richard AmeryThe downtown main drag was hopping for Street Wheeler’s weekend.
Backstreet South turned their parking lot into a massive beer garden featuring the music of a reunited Dated Delay on July 13.

I caught their second set which began with a surf flavoured instrumental and then crashed into the Greg Kihn Band‘s “ Break-Up Song.”

They were playing a lot of classic rock covers including Boston’s “Peace of Mind,” some Creedence Clearwater Revival and having fun with the good sized crowd.

They moved on to more modern material including Jimmy Eat World’s “The Middle,” but their rendition of the Trooper classic, “Boys in the Bright White Sports Car,” was especially apt for an atmosphere of roaring engines, blasting mufflers and pungent exhaust, as a variety of of hot rods, semis, monster trucks and shiny sports cars roared back and forth along Third Ave. South.
