John Jerome and the Congregation add mandolin to indie rock

E-mail Print PDF

John Jerome and the Congregation brought a taste of east coast rock to the Owl Acoustic Lounge, March 22.John Jerome and the Congregation play indie rock. photo by Richard Amery

I arrived in the middle of a very ’60s influenced pop song complete with catchy hooks and melodic vocal harmonies.

The Moncton based band switched up their instrumentation adding mandolin and keyboards after that for a more straight ahead a set of ambient indie rock, while adding a smattering of  ’90s style Brit rock which ended up  sounding like a blend of the Stokes, Said the Whale and Blur.

They got the crowd clapping along  just in time to end their show
The Brenna Lowrie band opened the show, unfortunately I missed their set.
