Jungal play blues from down under

E-mail Print PDF

Jungal came all the way from Australia to rock the Slice on Friday, June 28.

The three women played a tight set of blues and roots rock from Down Under. And Faye Blais signs harmonies with Jungal bassist Victoria Beard. photo by Richard Amerywhile they had a decent crowd, they didn’t have as many as they deserved in the audience.

They sang beautiful harmonies, but tore things apart when  lead singer/ guitarist Leisha Jungalwalla plugged in  a steel guitar and played some raunchy slide blues.

Early in the set they invited opener FaLeisha Jungalwalla and her sister Jessie. photo by Richard Ameryye Blais to sing some spellbinding harmonies on another one of their songs.

Her sister, drummer Jessie Jungalwalla added vocal harmonies and ended the first set by singing the title track of their new CD “Leave My Head” which was more angst ridden then their more blues based music.
