Madchild and friends remember DJ Booda

E-mail Print PDF

A good crowd came out to Studio 54 on a Wednesday night, Sept. 25 to remember beloved friend and concert promoter James DJ Madchild rapping, Sept. 25. Photo by Richard AmeryBooda Nishima and hear Madchild of the Swollen Members.

Most of the local rap and hip hop crowd  showed up to represent their love and perform. One duo performed a song they wrote for Booda.

Wildcard, who performed just before Madchild, noted he had never met Booda but hoped when he passed as many people would come out to represent him as well as they did for Booda.
He performed a variety of songs about everything from haters to bad relationships.

Madchild didn’t take the stage until almost 1 a.m. and observed the room wasn’t  as full as it usually is for his shows.

He tore through a set, stalking the stage as he rapped a variety of solo and Swollen Members songs.Wildcard performing. Photo by Richard Amery
“Dickhead,” from his last album ‘Dope Sick’ was a stand out which had the audience shouting along.

There were also a lot of songs from his latest Cd ‘Lawnmower Man.’

He demanded a moment of silence for Booda midway through his set and most of  the rambunctious crowd listened, even hushing their more oblivious friends.
